Running Man Episode 201

On this sunny summer day, our cast drives into the opening location at a snail’s pace. After taking a beat to tease one another on each other’s fashion choices (though, notably, everyone’s wearin’ a bit of denim today), they wonder about the idol tie-in to today’s theme.
I kinda love how they play along with Jo PD’s pitch that they are the top idols in on this farm and will compete against the city idols. Cue the barrage of today’s guests, introduced to the tune of Kim Gun-mo’s “Wrongful Encounter”: Minho (SHINee); Chansung (2PM);Kang Min-hyuk (CNBLUE); Sunggyu & Hoya (INFINITE); Jin-young (B1A4); and Bora(SISTAR). Phew, did I get everyone?
Oh how cute—the idols break into synchronized line dancing, but the cast can’t stand to see the young’uns ruin a pop classic and show off the actual choreography. LOL, way to date yourselves, you guys.

The cast doesn’t hesitate to tease some returning guests, like Minho’s fiery competitiveness (“He looks innocent at the opening, but he’s a force later!” “He cries when he loses!”) or the insistence that Chansung’s nose is even larger than Big Nose Hyung’s.
Then they note how Min-hyuk is comedienne Song Eun-yi’s favorite (both belong to FNC Entertainment; also, she and Jae-suk are longtime friends) as Jong-kook jokes, “She paid money to join that agency.” Min-hyuk: “How did you know that?”

Sunggyu is determined to impress today, much to the staff’s chucklings. B1A4′s Jin-young has starred in the movie Miss Granny and his bubblegum pink hair has the cast wonder what it’d be like if Gary’s hair was pink, too. As expected, Bora gets the warmest welcome as the only female guest today.
Our two “idol” teams settle for the names City Idols (Doshi Aheedol) vs. Rural Idols (ShigolAheedol), and then Jae-suk names each cast member to each idol counterpart. Sunggyu gets offended at being the Haha of the group, to which Haha’s all, I’m gonna take care of you, so pipe down!
When Jong-kook interjects to say that comparing Hoya to himself will only upset Minho, Jae-suk returns, “Minho’s like me.” No one believes it. Hahaha. And then Jae-suk’s attempt to find a Kwang-soo counterpart ends with: “There isn’t anyone.”

Our two teams will face off in different farm games, where the winning team in each round will be given an advantage useful for their final mission. It sounds like today’s battle is a fight for pride, as the victors will be known as the nation’s idols.
Everyone is apprehensive when they arrive at the muddy field, though the RM cast is much more at home. Jae-suk: “We do this every year! Even a good kid like GD went through this!”
Thus the trash-talking begins, as Haha remarks that the muddied field newbies will be gargling muddy water today. Also, their prettified dyed hair will take a beating: “Remember how GD bleached his hair? This is how.”

Minho is the only rarin’ to go for this first game, and Sunggyu insists that he’s been exercising lately. How long? “Two… no, one month.”
Haha tries to salvage the moment by mentioning that Sunggyu’s known as a fair ping-pong player, only to be met with Sunggyu’s confused reaction. I’m confused, too—are you trying to set him up for a joke? Once Sunggyu realizes his variety hyung is trying to help him out, he quips, “You should have given me something good ”
Back to our game: one player will hurdle over their teammates, grab the flag, and run back first to win it. Looks like long-legged Kwang-soo will go up against agile Minho, but I don’t get why swimming in the field will help our giraffe any.

Joseon Gunman Episode 13

Yoon-kang breaks and goes after Soo-in, and they sob in each other’s arms. He says, “I’m sorry—it was a lie, all of it. I missed you. I missed you so much I couldn’t bear it.” And then he finally takes a decisive stand, saying, “Don’t go. I won’t let you go. Stay with me—only with me.”
Soo-in nods, and then he kisses her. Ah, it’s a nice way to begin an episode.

Now that Choi Won-shin has essentially bought back Minister Kim’s position, the minister is pleased to be out of exile and also impressed with Choi’s maneuverings. Looks like this new alliance is well on its way to forming.
Hye-won is pleased to receive the message that Hanjo would like to see her. But when her father asks about it, she hides her reaction and excuses herself, still chilly towards him after having discovered his secret life as an assassin.
Yoon-kang walks Soo-in back home and promises that it’ll all be over soon—and when it is, he’ll be able to stand before her openly as Yoon-kang, not Hanjo. She asks him to stay safe, and he promises

.

Time for another transformation, and he dons his gunman gear to head out that night to Choi Won-shin’s home. Ah, he must have requested a meeting with Hye-won to draw her away, because he waits until she leaves before making his move. Sang-chu provides the distraction by shooting a gun from a rooftop, and when the guards head off in his direction, Yoon-kang slips inside to confront Choi Won-shin at gunpoint.
But assassin Sung-gil is ready with his own weapon, and forces Yoon-kang to toss his away. Choi tells Yoon-kang that he was always too rash, rushing headlong into traps: “That is your limitation as a gunman.” Sadly, he’s right about that.

So now Choi picks up his old rifle, telling Yoon-kang that he killed his father with it: “I’ll end you with it too.” As he takes aim, Yoon-kang takes stock of the situation quickly, then acts before Choi has a chance to fire. Yes, Yoon-kang is totally rash when he’s planning his missions, but at least he’s fast-thinking once things go awry.
Yoon-kang knocks Sung-gil’s gun away and tussles with him hand-to-hand, then runs off. They engage once more in the courtyard, which ends with Yoon-kang shooting him (nonfatally) before escaping again, at which point Choi Won-shin takes over the pursuit. Yoon-kang literally lands on top of him from above and sends him reeling from a blow to the head. Yoon-kang looms over him and trains his gun on Choi, at which point he reveals his face, demanding an apology for his father.

Fated To Love You Episode 7

Needless to say, Gun is none too pleased to see his wife in another man’s arms. He pulls Mi-young away from Daniel, asking if this is appropriate behavior coming from a priest. He doesn’t notice Mi-young’s tears until Daniel points them out to him, then immediately glares at Daniel to ask if someone is bullying her.
Daniel doesn’t back down, though, and the air remains tense between the two men until Mi-young excuses herself.
Gun takes off and catches up to her. He asks what’s wrong—he won’t know if she doesn’t say. He refuses to let her go without knowing, adding the reminder that they have to keep up appearances while they’re married.

She asks if that means being nice to someone to their face, but then does whatever they want behind their back. Even though Mi-young is clearly upset, she’s still soft-spoken, and gently inquires what kind of person she is to him. “What would I mean to you?”
He wonders if that’s what this is all about, and answers, “You’re the precious mother of my child.” A very, very precious woman who needs to take care of herself inside and out until the baby’s born, he emphasizes. Mi-young supposes that means she doesn’t mean much to him if they take the baby out of the equation then.
Gun grows increasingly frustrated with her vague questions, trying to figure out where she’s getting at. But Mi-young glosses over the subject and dashes off.

Mi-young confides in Daniel when he finds her outside the church, sniffling. She doesn’t know why she’s so upset when she already knew that she meant nothing to Gun, but her hometown is a place she holds most dear.
She beats herself up for resenting Gun and looks to Daniel for some priestly advice. Sighing deeply, Daniel finally comes clean about his not-a-priest status. He swears he didn’t intend to deceive her and just wanted to be of help.
He apologizes, adding that he put off telling her the truth out of fear she’d be disappointed in him. But his confession just adds to Mi-young’s list of today’s painful truths, and she walks away without another word.

Gun is still troubled about Mi-young at the office when Manager Tak says something terrible has happened: the board is up in arms over the canceled sale for the Yeoul Island soap factory, and there’s even talk of his dismissal with the recent slump in sales.
They’ll be fine once their upcoming product is out on the market, Gun says dismissively, which prompts Manager Tak to ask if his meeting with Mr. Pitt went well today.  you were planning to talk business with Daniel? That ought to go over well.
Gun didn’t meet any such person today, and when he’s asked why he went all the way over to the gallery, Gun answers half to himself: “That’s what I’m saying, why did I—” and cuts himself off to go and feed his snail.

Marriage Not Dating Episode 10

Ki-tae, his grandmother, and his aunt sit in the living room looking nervous as Jang-mi and Mom have an epic stare-down. Jang-mi asks Mom, “Does this really have special meaning for you, Mother?” Mom swears that it  is very special and should be treated as precious. Suddenly Jang-mi grabs a huge rock, raises it over her head, andsmashes it down onto the table as Ki-tae’s entire family looks on in horror.
A few days earlier, we rejoin Ki-tae and Jang-mi mid-kiss. Jang-mi looks startled when Ki-tae swoops in, but soon her eyes flutter closed.
Having gone for help, Yeo-reum finds Hoon-dong drunk and alone in his room and tries to wake him, and Hoon-dong suddenly sits up and grabs Yeo-reum for a long passionate kiss. Yeo-reum manages to flail his way out of it, and carries Hoon-dong outside to dunk him in a barrel of freezing water.

Yeo-reum fills Hoon-dong in regarding Hyun-hee’s disappearance on the way back to the stuck car, but Hoon-dong is slow to understand why Hyun-hee is at a temple and why he should care. Yeo-reum gets to the car in time to witness the kiss, and can only stand stunned until Hoon-dong’s loud voice causes Ki-tae and Jang-mi to jump apart. It’s pretty obvious to everyone that Yeo-reum saw the kiss, though nobody says a word about it.
Hoon-dong finds Hyun-hee praying at the temple, and starts a weak apology. Hyun-hee says that this “gift” may be unexpected, but it’s still precious, and offers Hoon-dong one chance to bail if he wants. Shockingly, Hoon-dong instead hugs Hyun-hee and cries that he’s sorry for her, that it had to be someone like him.
Hyun-hee sobs that she’s scared, and Hoon-dong promises to take care of her, and I actually believe that his tears are genuine. But Hoon-dong is still Hoon-dong, and their embrace changes tone quickly and he starts to take their clothes off. At least until they’re busted by a monk.

Back at work, Jang-mi and Hyun-hee can’t help but be distracted, and their manager takes them to task. Hyun-hee is all smiles as she tells Jang-mi that she’ll be quitting soon to get married, and Hoon-dong will be speaking to his mother soon. But Jang-mi has met Hoon-dong’s mother and knows it won’t be that easy.
Hoon-dong’s mom beelines for the department store to confront Hyun-hee, who innocently greets her. Jang-mi rushes over to shield her friend and takes the brunt of Mom’s anger, who calls her a stalker and accuses Hyun-hee of trapping her son on purpose. The scene draws a crowd, and Hyun-hee and Hoon-dong’s mother both leave. The manager warns Jang-mi not to bring personal issues to work again or there will be consequences.

Hoon-dong’s and Ki-tae’s mothers discuss the situation. Hoon-dong’s mother is furious that Jang-mi lost out with her son then went after his friend, then sicced her friend on her baby boy. Well, I guess it does sound bad if you say it like that. Ki-tae’s mother advises her to do what she’s doing – aggressively plan the wedding, and the girl’s true motivations will come out.
Hoon-dong happily tells Hyun-hee that his family wants to meet her parents to talk about their wedding, but Hyun-hee says her parents are on a cruise for a few months and aren’t available. She says she’s always been independent and her parents would probably want her to do this on her own, but combined with her shifty expression, this makes me feel this is just more lies from her.
Jang-mi, who’s been sitting with them, gets up to leave but comes face-to-face with Ki-tae walking into the restaurant. He looks thrilled to see her, but she reels in horror and runs back to the table. Ki-tae joins them and she pops back up and flees, telling Yeo-reum she’ll wait outside for him to finish his shift.

Trot Lovers Episode 13

Trot Lovers Episode 13

On the pier, Joon-hyung tells Chun-hee that he remembers how the Little Mermaid story ends: The moment the mermaid turns to bubbles, the prince’s memory returns.
Out of the corner of his eye, Joon-hyun notices Geon-woo and Soo-in approaching, and his tone of voice turns more casual as he says of course that’s how it ends, because fairy tales have happy endings. He tells Soo-in he’s ready to go, and they leave Chun-hee and Geon-woo looking shocked.
Alone on the ferry, Soo-in gives herself a pep talk, reminding herself that it’s not over yet. She invites Geon-woo and Chun-hee to dinner with her and Joon-hyun, saying she has something important to tell them. They all sit down to the Most Uncomfortable Lunch Ever, and Geon-woo breaks the silence by asking Chun-hee if she found what she lost. Joon-hyun gripes at him for buying her such a cheap hairpin, and Chun-hee realizes that he hasn’t remembered her or their relationship.

Out of nowhere Soo-in makes her announcement — she and Joon-hyun are getting married. Geon-woo congratulates them, but Chun-hee is stunned and Joon-hyun looks at her guiltily. He may not remember her, but he knows that something is very wrong here.
Later, Chun-hee asks Geon-woo to drive her to the studio to practice, and he says she doesn’t have to be brave in front of him. He tells her not to hold it in, but Chun-hee looks like she’s barely holding her emotions under control. At home, she remembers Soo-in’s announcement, and puts the hairpin away.

But as she’s letting go, Joon-hyun is starting to have flashes of memories like the set piece falling on him, and seeing Chun-hee’s face in his dream. He heads to the theater to pick up his cell phone that was broken during the accident and takes it to be repaired.
Soo-in lets herself into Joon-hyun’s practice room and finds his cell phone, and goes through his messages (she obviously takes after her mother). She finds a text message from the repair shop promising to have his phone fixed soon. She heads to the repair shop but finds that Joon-hyun has already picked up the phone, and it scares her so badly that her knees buckle.
Soo-in freaks out to her mom that he’ll see all the pictures of himself and Chun-hee in his phone. Mom says she’ll take care of the phone , and instructs Soo-in to just proceed with the engagement plans.

Geon-woo takes Chun-hee to a sort of Shine Star Hall of Fame to show her all the albums they’ve produced, and asks her to choose one as her role model. She finds her mother’s album but Geon-woo says she doesn’t have to stick to trot music, and specifically mentions the possibility of doing a ballad album next time. Chun-hee looks thoughtful as she considers her options.
Soo-in and Joon-hyun’s engagement party invitations have arrived, and they discuss who from Shine Star to invite. They run into Chun-hee, and Soo-in doesn’t miss the opportunity to give her an invitation and ask her to sing a song at the party. It’s so bitchy that Joon-hyun says her name with a warning tone, but Chun-hee declines.

Joon-hyun finds Chun-hee and apologizes for Soo-in asking her to sing, and they stand in the elevator carefully not looking at each other. It’s heartbreaking when Chun-hee quietly asks if he’s happy, and he asks what reason he would have not to be, but his face looks downright miserable. He exits the elevator and Chun-hee says to herself, “It’s enough.”
Later, Joon-hyun asks Soo-in if they can postpone the engagement party, because he needs time to confirm something before then. Her face takes on a panicked look and she asks if there’s another woman. He denies it, and she says she knows he’s confused after the accident but asks him to try harder. She thanks him for saving her life at the theater, which just confuses him more.
